How to Increase Blog Views: Chapter 1

I'm sure one of the main reasons you have joined SG BlogHub is to increase your blogviews! SG BlogHub will help you do that by re-posting useful articles that give hints and tips on building up a good readership base for your blog. "How to Increase Blog Views" will now be a regular feature on SG BlogHub!

1. Post Intelligently

Know and own your content. Many blog writers have the tendency to write whatever flashes in their mind while others categorize their posts. I would suggest to make a first draft of what you want to write and that must be done on paper. Once you have drafted your post, start typing. Upon completion, add your post to the right category. It is also essential to determine when to post what. For example, on Labor Day, it would not be ideal to write a post on Independence Day because on this particular day, the majority of the world population would be more keen to search for Labor Day. Add quality content though. It’s a trick of the mind!

2. Get your blog noticed !

This is one of the easiest and simplest way to stir your blog views for around 1000 and above per day. Promoting facilitate viewers to come across your blog. That is, get your blog noticed in this virtual world! Use social networking sites, for example Facebook and Twitter, to share your updates.

3. Blog Subscription

If a viewer happen to like your blog content, they will probably bookmark your site and will become a regular visitor. To retain such viewers, the blog subscription option will keep them inform of all new post in your blogs once they subscribed. Place the blog subscription option on the top side bar of your blog with a brief note that viewers will be notified upon publishing of new posts. This will ensure the rise of your blog views.

4. Maximize interactivity in your blog

I love to suggest this to all blog writers. I would entitle this suggestion as comment management. Whenever you receive a comment from a viewer, filter the comment on the spot! Don’t delay. That is, decide whether you want to trash it or approve it. Once you approve it, take the time to reply them or add a word of thank for the comment. This shows to the viewers that your blog is active. Further, use polls and chat options to make your blog interactive and to bridge communication among viewers. It will be a real platform for debates. Of course, keep monitoring the options.

5. Tag your content

I don’t have to write much on this one because it is the easiest. Always tag your content before you publish your post. Tagging must be done smartly. Use essential keywords to get your post noticed and to optimize it in search engines.

6.Excerpts in RSS Feeds

This is an option which allow your content to get noticed in its summarized form. However, you can also place a full RSS Feeds for your contents. The choice is yours. The options are there, so simply use them.

How Do I Activate RSS Feeds for My Blog?

If you use a Blogger account,

In Blogger go into your Settings, then choose Site Feed. 
In the pulldown to the right of Allow Blog Feeds, choose full or short. 

If you use a Wordpress account,

RSS feed is automatically created!

If you use a Tumblr account,

You might want to add "rss" behind your URL. So your blog link looks something like that: "abc.tumblr.com/rss"




Alternatively, you can use Feedburner to create a feed!

You can also put your blog through Feedburner, in which case you will need to give the feedburner URL for your RSS feed in the next area. Feedburner will give you information about who's subscribing to your blog.

We have a new rule regarding the SG BlogHub tagboard. The tagboard can be used freely except for the tagging of advertisements. Violations of this rule will be looked into and continued violation would result in the banning of the violator's ip address from the tagboard.

SG BlogHub is getting bigger and it is not very feasible to update regularly. Therefore the SG BlogHub Team would update the BlogHub monthly or every 2 months.

Hi!

we have 5 new blogs added this week-1 information(multi) blog on personal care products, 3 personal(diary) blogs and 1 personal(variety) blogs.

Some of you might be wondering what the PIC RATINGS classification mean, so SG BlogHub will now explain it abit.

a blog with a pic rating of 1 means that it might not have any pics in the blog at all, or it might have a few, but it is clear that the blog is not a picture heavy blog.

a blog with a pic rating of 2 means there are consistent blogposts with pics around, but you do not get the feeling that you are being spammed with pics.

a blog with a pic rating of 3 means the reader would be spammed with tons of pics. it is not a bad thing as some people prefer reading blogs with lots of pics! this is the easiest blog to classify. when you fast scroll down the blog, you know a blog has a pic rating of 3 when it seems to have pics all the way.

alright, after reading this, you should have a better understanding of the method SG BlogHub uses to classify blogs by pic rating!

We have to admit this message in CAPS was rather shocking. Mr/Ms 'u have to stop this', if you are reading this, SG BlogHub Team will now fend off your argument.

The facts:
at arnd 20 May 09, 12:30, SG BlogHub posted this tag message on several tagboards.

SG BlogHub: SG BlogHub has been updated! Do check out the advertisement where you might win a camera!

Analysis:
If you do not need a free camera or printer, then you are free to ignore the advertisement!
We did NOT tell those bloggers to click on our ads...we were telling them about the advertisement. If someone tells you (random drink) tastes great, are they asking you to buy it? This should be enough explaining...but we will provide abit more.

We were merely informing people that 'hey! now there's a chance to win a camera and printer'. This, we believe, would be the intention of the advertisers.

We have clicked on the ads ourselves (once or twice! NO SPAMMING) and found that 6 bloggers would get a chance to win a Canon camera and printer.

As a reasonable person, one would surely come to the conclusion that an advertiser, seeking to promote whatever products, would want as many people to know about the promotion.

What is wrong with helping the advertiser?

We appreciate if other bloggers would give their comments about this.

btw...we will continue to promote this Canon event...in fact...right now!
